Old Fashioned Annual Salpiglossis sinuata "Painted Tongue"

Salpiglossis sinuata is an easy old fashioned annual also called Painted Tongue. It's 12-18" high and likes full sun and comes in all the jewel tones.  It looks velvety and interesting veining, one of my favorite annuals, got to have them every year somewhere in the garden or in pots.

  1. Hi Cheryl,

I love these! Are these hard to find? I have been searching for these for two years! My mom and I loved them when I planted them a few summers ago and we haven't ever found them since. So glad I hopped on your blog and saw them. Hope all is well :)

  2. Sorry Cheree , this is sooooooooooo late, so much I'm doing, anyway, you can find this old fashioned annual at Flower World every year in packs of 4 in spring. I love them , takes me back to my younger days at working at a nursery when I was 19 run by a guy who loved old fashioned annuals. I buy them every year now, love them.
